Introduction
Mathematics has a very important position in human life as the basis for the development of science and technology. In general, there are three groups of mathematics, i.e. mathematics education, pure mathematics and applied mathematics. One branch of mathematics discipline which is rapidly evolving is graph theory. In addition, the development of the field of mathematics education must also be guarded in order to produce new mathematicians generation. Thus the process for enrichment through seminars and workshops related to mathematics (including graph theory) and mathematics education became a necessity.
Therefore, the Department of Mathematics, Islamic University of Malang (UNISMA) in collaboration with the Indonesian Society Combinatorial (InaCombS), intend to organize the “International Workshop on Graph Masters and Seminar on Mathematics Education and Graph Theory”
The aim of the Graph Masters Workshop and Mathematics Education and Graph Theory Seminar is to bring together researchers in graph theory and mathematics education at all levels (senior, junior, especially graduate students) to study current problems of particularly theoretical and practical interests. This forum is informal one and mainly devoted to new research resulting from the interactions among the participants. The workshop and seminar also provides an exceptional opportunity for all participants to contribute to the world of graph and mathematics education.
In the discussions, all participants will be divided into small groups to be able to share a common interest in a problem. All participants are expected to actively take part in finding ways in solving the problems. New joint-papers are expected to be the output and new collaborations are expected to be the outcome.
To stimulate discussions, we will invite outstanding mathematicians to present open problems in graphs and its application and mathematics education to work on. We also encourage postgraduate students to take part actively in this workshop and seminar. The expected participants of this workshop and seminar will be from Indonesia, Australia, Pakistan and some neighboring countries. The main result of this workshop and seminar are new collaboration papers that will be submitted in international journals and new collaborating researches.
